SkyTale Studios

Game & software development for mobile devices, desktop, consoles and AR|VR|MR

For end customers and B2B

Enthusiasm and a focus on top quality is what brought SkyTale together. We love everything related to aviation and space exploration.

We care deeply about the fine details and never release a game that we don’t personally enjoy playing.

Custom physics engines, carefully tuned to deliver the utmost in realism. Highly optimized, handwritten shaders to create stunning graphics.

Desktop class performance even on mobile devices.

Lightweight in-house game engine deploying high quality content in small packages.

Fun and rewarding gameplay, fine-tuned for every type of device.

That is what SkyTale stands for.

While the focus is on developing our games we are offering consulting services just as tailor-made software solutions, content creation and optimization, especially for underperforming devices.

Want to see high quality 3D environments in your next app? Need support at your current project to reach the upcoming deadlines, or just a logo design or art direction?  We did it all, so do not hesitate to contact us!

It all started in 2009 with “F-Sim Space Shuttle” for iOS and Android, created solely by Sascha in his spare time and turning into a highly acclaimed hit after its release in 2010. Several number one or top ten rankings in UK and US app charts led to a continued development of the space shuttle simulator.

Sascha is the creator of F-Sim|Space Shuttle

Sascha is experienced for decades in programming game and physics engines, tools, and shaders, but also has an eye for graphics and visual style.

During the years he became an expert for optimizing high quality games especially for mobile devices.

Pixels and polygons

Mario is responsible for visual design and 3D modelling objects for real-time engines, but also worked on several online 2D games and writes his own tools for his graphics work pipeline.

For ten years Mario was the lead environment artist for the award winning sports game Ski Challenge.

Sascha and Mario met at a start-up company in Vienna in 2017 which was dedicated to application development for the at this time hyped VR headsets of Oculus and HTC and joined their experiences two years later in Sascha`s company, then renamed to SkyTale Studios.

A funding in late 2018 for a VR version of the spaceship simulator initialized the further development in this area and in 2019 the first project for a business client was finalized by Sascha and Mario (Space Shuttle landing game in “Shuttle Commander VR“, Immersive VR Education).”

While continuing our work on F-Sim|Space Shuttle 2 another company asked for our expertise in flying simulation games: United Airlines.

In 2022 SkyTale Studios delivered “Boeing 787 Simulator” and “Santa Claus’s Sleigh Simulator” which are now embedded in the United Airlines apps for iOS and Android and can be played for free.

Later the same year another F-Sim Space Shuttle veteran of the early days joined the team: Alois Steiner, who ported the first F-Sim game to Android several years ago.
